Canada has plenty of illegal immigrants, not to the same scale as the US, but lots.
The reason that we don’t have as many illegal immigrants, is threefold. Canadians don’t hire illegal immigrants, and, Canada has a robust immigration system, where we let in a lot of the best and brightest immigrants, and their families.
We also have a temporary foreign worker program, where you can work in Canada, and go home when your job is done, but if you like it here, commit no crimes, and your employer says you were a good worker, you can apply to become a Canadian citizen.
Because we let in a lot, but only the best and brightest, Canadas average IQ has been rising for decades. A nice little side effect.
These three things remove most of the stress on the system, that the US has.
Despite Multiculturalism , Canada integrates the newcomers much better than other countries.
The Center for American progress just released a new study on the employment of undocumented workers in the USA: RELEASE: Millions of Undocumented Immigrants Are Essential to America’s Recovery, New Report Shows. About 4.4% of the employees in the USA are undocumented:

Now, let’s do a bit of math. There are roughly 7 million undocumented workers. Some of those will be part-time, let’s estimate 25% have full-time jobs, and the other 75% work part-time. And let’s guess that they are paid less than minimum wage, so maybe around $10 per hour.
That means we have 25% or 1,750,000 people making $10 per hour for 40 hours a week. That’s $700 million a week.
The other 5,250,000 will also be making $10 per hour, but only for 10 hours a week. That’s another $525 million a week.
If you are playing along at home, you’ll see that this means that American employers are currently paying illegals about 1.25 billion dollars a week to work illegally in the USA.
