Why do Europeans brag about “free” healthcare when mine is 33 times my salary?

I know the American education system is appalling but your assertion is inexcusable bullshit.

  1. Universal healthcare is never “free” it is paid for by taxes.
  2. The cost each person pays is quite manageable when compared to what Americans end up paying.
  3. No country pays more per capita than the US although Americans get NOTHING for their spent taxes.
  4. European (and other) countries get universal healthcare and yet get less taxation for it.
  5. Americans get the higher taxes PLUS premiums, PLUS co-pays.

You are also OVERCHARGED for everything. You pay $800 for a bag of saline that costs $8 under universal healthcare. The extra Americans pay is PROFIT for the medical industry.

Are you saying that you are covered for 33 times your salary ?

So if you are earning $100,000 you are covered for up to $3,300,000.

How much is your insurance contribution for that cover ?

I guess if you’re lucky you’re employer pays a lot of it.

How much do you have to pay every time you see a doctor ?

In the UK about 20% of taxes go to the NHS, so if I was earning £100,000 I’d pay about £30,000 in tax, of which $6,000 would be paid to the NHS.

For that £6,000 contribution, I pay nothing whenever I see a doctor, I pay nothing for any treatment, there is no limit to the treatment I can receive and I will not need to contribute a single additional penny for that treatment. If I am forced to give up my well paid job, and contribute effectively zero to the NHS I will still be treated for nothing.

If I earn £50,000 and pay far less tax than when earning £100,000 I still get the same level of coverage.

Somebody earning $50,000 only gets half the coverage the $100,000 earner receives.
What happens when the money runs out, or your illness causes you to lose your job what’s 33 times 0?
What’s 333 times 0?

I think Europeans justifiably have bragging rights here
