As a retired Marine with five combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I challenge you to provide evidence for the premise of your question.

While on active duty, every promotion I got, and every time I promoted someone, I reiterated my oath to the Constitution and the United States. I took that oath seriously. Trump is the first President ever to refuse a peaceful transfer of power and says we should terminate the Constitution, then incites an insurrection at our Capitol to stop the certification of an election he lost.

He then pardons those criminals who attacked our most sacred institutions. He has no honor, which is something Veteran’s hold dear. He has no integrity, which is something Veterans practice.

And lets not forget, he’s an adulterer (which is sufficient for a court martial in the military) and a convicted felon. A felony will also prohibit you from serving in the military, yet we somehow hold our leaders to lower standards than our junior enlisted and officers?

As others have pointed out, he called us Suckers and Losers according to General John Kelley (who I trust a hell of a lot more than Trump’s word), and General James Mattis called him “A Threat to the Nation”. Having served under General Mattis in Iraq, I also take his judgement as pretty solid. And there are plenty others, from Secretary of Defense Espers to General Milley who have the same opinion of the man.

There are Trump supporters among us Veteran’s, no doubt, but they aren’t as numerous as you may think. Amongst those I served with and keep in touch with, I can’t think of a one.

I’m a veteran and I think donald trump is the worst thing to happen to America since 9/11/01. I say he doesn’t give a flying fuck about veterans because if he did he wouldn’t be letting some South African ketamine junkie fuck with the system we rely on for our health care, cutting thousands of people out of a system that’s UNDERSTAFFED AS IT WAS.

So I suggest you talk to more vets than the handful of maga cult members you probably know. Most of us swore an oath to protect this country from motherfuckers like trump, not to hand it over to him on a silver platter.
