Is the iceberg that hit Titanic still there, or has it completely melted?

That iceberg is not only still there, it’s still sinking ships with amazing regularity!

Known amongst Atlantic sea captains as Le Glaçon de chagrin, or “The Ice Cube of Sorrow,” it has claimed an untold number of ships as the ocean currents carry it around the North Atlantic on its demonic journey. In fact, many ships claimed sunk by German U-boats during World War I and World War II were actually victims of this Iceberg of Death.

Covered in paint scrapings and embedded with rivets and hunks of hull plating, it often emerges— too late— from the fog to claim its quarry. In fact, it’s the reason most people now fly to Europe and the United States instead of taking an ocean liner.
