What are some of the most mind-blowing facts about MIT?

  • Getting out of MIT with good grades is much more difficult than getting into MIT. And the chances of getting into MIT are less than 5% out of 100. Imagine how much brain you need.
  • Alumnus of MIT have won Nobel Prizes, nearly 100 (probably the highest compared to any university); if we combine all the selected honors given to MIT, they are over 200. Imagine the legacy.
  • The number of Indian students getting into MIT is an average of 5–6 undergrads every year.
  • Just like any other university, MIT also has a quota for international students. 10% of the class is mandatory from at least 50+ backward or developing countries (India included).
  • JEE Advanced is tough, but it is the 5% of the science competitions that happen on a global level. And if MIT doesn’t find the required number of students, it collects from those competitions. Means winning a gold at an international science competition, and MIT would still not be sure to pick you. Imagine.
  • MIT rejects 70-80% of global applicants. Straight. Without even thinking twice.

So, MIT is not a trade school.
