I spent 16 years in the United States Marine Corps. And people ask me all the time why I didn’t do 20 years. I usually don’t answer this question all they have to do is start looking at my body and they figure it out.
The scars from my face to toes usually answer the question. I had some of the best experiences and duty stations. Every ship I boarded was clean painted and fairly new.
The only time I didn’t feel comfortable was I was being an ex field from a mission and a helicopter came in to pick us up that was quite old and was leaking hydraulic fuel fluid on the inside the cabin, but I still fell asleep because I believe in the men around me and if they would wouldn’t fly in it, I wouldn’t fly in it.
My overall experience was outstanding. I was an athlete. I was built like a brick shit house and I like to fight and I love my country, but my physical body could not keep up. I had fingertips replaced. I had shoulder replaced. I had three knee surgeries.
I had a spinal fusion I had facial injuries and I had through the left butt cheek that came out of my manhood, but all that was put back together, and I still had three children, but if you can’t run climb hump and shoulder rifle, you can only train others and I had enough so 16 years it was time to raise my children and grow old.
