Natalie Winters, a 24 year old MAGA republican and Steve Bannon protege put it better than I ever could:
“I just think it’s frankly very grifty to have spent your entire career promoting, even if it weren’t the Epstein thing directly, but the idea that there is this deep state, the idea that there’s this unelected class of, you know, bankers, corporation, countries, intel agencies, blah, blah, blah.

And then finally, you have the power to expose it, and either you’re not, because there’s nothing there, in which case it makes you a liar — and I don’t believe that — or you’re ineffective, or you’re compromised.”
MAGA is angry at Trump because they have to accept that he has been lying to them.

Or they have to accept that he’s a terrible president. Or that they have to accept that he is in the Epstein report. For those of us who are not MAGA republicans we already know all three of those things are true, but MAGA republicans have built this story that Trump is powerful, tells the truth when others don’t, and is moral.

To have to see that at least one of those must not be true is truly devastating.
