In terms of stand-alone radar performance, the high-frequency radio waves used by the J-16’s JY-27V GaN active phased array radar radar can completely invalidate the stealth coating of the F22 and completely expose the F22. Therefore, the F22 does not have stealth performance in the J-16.
The F22’s AN/APG-77 gallium arsenide edged phased array radar has a detection range of more than 220km, while the J-16’s JY-27V gallium nitride active phased array radar has a detection range of up to 400km, and due to its stronger radar power, it has about 2,680 T/R components (the F22’s radar is only about 1,900), which can track and lock multiple targets at the same time.
